Threshold Inspection

The consultant will provide Threshold Inspection services. The SPECIAL INSPECTOR required by Florida Statute 553 for Threshold Buildings, shall provide and perform all of the services that are needed to execute the STRUCTURAL INSPECTION PLAN FOR THRESHOLD BUILDINGS for educational (University) facilities and will work with Architects and Engineers on design and construction projects that have a basic construction budget estimated to be $1,000,000 or more.

GENERAL INFORMATION

All applicants will be notified of the results of the short-listing in writing. Finalists will be informed of the interview date and time and will be provided with additional project information, if available.

The Selection Committee will make a recommendation to the University President. All finalists will be notified in writing of the President's action. Upon approval by the President, negotiations will be conducted in accordance with Section 287.055, Florida Statutes.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Firms will be evaluated in the following areas: current workload, location, past performance, volume of state work, and experience and ability. Experience and ability scores will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Firms who have the proven ability to perform the requested services for projects of similar scope both in and out of the educational environment. Cite examples of specific works that meet the required criteria.
  2. Demonstrated compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, as applicable. Cite all requirements to perform the discipline and then provide evidence that your firm meets these requirements.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of the State University System (SUS) procedures will be a consideration.
